Position Description: This position would be working with the Recreation and Recreation Special Uses Department.
Projects would include verifying and updating recreation-related databases, creating a standardized map template for kiosks, assisting with forest-wide Recreation.
gov management, monitoring sites, compiling monitoring data, assisting with implementing the Recreation Enhancement Act fee increase project, and working with Recreation Special Use management.
Responsibilities: Verifying and updating recreation-related databases for developed recreation sites and trails Acting as the project manager for partners collecting recreation-related field data, Creating a standardized map template for kiosks which would require GIS skills, Assisting with forest-wide Recreation.
gov management where campground and rental cabin information is viewed by the public for reservations, Reporting and updating Great American Outdoors Act project accomplishments in the Natural Resource Management Database, Assisting with implementing the Recreation Enhancement Act fee increase project at 93 developed recreation sites Completing compliance monitoring for Recreation Residence permits.
Qualifications: Major studies relevant to this position: Recreation, Environmental Studies, GIS, Forestry Proficiency in relevant software and tools for database management, data collection, and GIS work.
Strong data management and database skills are required to verify and update recreation-related databases.
Experience in project management is valuable, especially for overseeing partners collecting field data, and coordinating various projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for reporting project accomplishments and interacting with partners, visitors, and colleagues.
Ability to work outdoors, possibly in challenging conditions.
The ability to adapt to varying work environments, including both fieldwork and virtual work, is essential.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, data, and deadlines effectively.
Effective time management and prioritization skills to balance multiple responsibilities and meet project deadlines.
