JOB DESCRIPTION The Wellness Program Intern will work with the Wellness Team to implement City-wide wellness programming.
Interns will engage in needs assessments; program development and program implementation.
Interns will assist with administrative roles associated with the development and implementation of our City-wide Wellness Program.
Interns will also help maintain the internal Wellness website on SharePoint, Wellness e-newsletters, and various other communication tools.
Interns may also assist with large wellness programs and projects such as health screenings, and the Well Days Incentive Program.
Note to Applicants: This position is for the summer semester, May - August 2024.
LOCATION 215 N.
Mason Street, 2nd floor, HR Dept & 700 Wood St, Utilities Service Center PRIMARY ACTIVITIES Assist with program marketing Plan and implement a multi-week incentive program Assist with planning and conducting large wellness events Work with City departments on their wellness needs.
Maintain the Wellness website Conduct fitness room orientations and stretch sessions City Competencies Demonstrated cultural competence to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful relationships with people of diverse identities, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds.
Strong learning orientation.
Leverages all resources and is creative in ways of learning for self to continue adapting to changing issues and trends.
A desire and ability to understand the diverse needs of internal and external customers, and to create experiences and deliver services that exceed their expectations.
A desire and ability to utilize digital tools for organizational information, individual, and teamwork.
EXPECTATIONS Excellent customer service skills including the ability to precisely articulate complex information to others in an ethical and respectful manner.
Excellent public relations and communication skills including the ability to interact and work effectively and courteously with people from varying social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
Interest in helping employees improve their health and wellbeing TIME COMMITMENT AND AVAILABILITY Schedule is flexible based on the student’s schedule Occasional early morning and evening hours 30-40 hours per week EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science or equivalent experience BENEFITS TO VOLUNTEER Valuable learning opportunity observing the operational functioning of the City’s Wellness Program and HR Department Development of customer service skills.
