Position Summary: As a Para Educator in the HIPPY program, you will participate in community and family education, advocate for social changes, and provide support and facilitation for the activities of the prevention coalitions, advisory council, and/or education efforts.
Prevention activities are relationship-based and occur in the community and/or family homes supporting diverse groups and ages.
This may include providing case management for families to acquire resources and supports that promote resilience, protective factors, and the foals of designated programs.
Duties Performed: Participate in planning, organizing, logistically supporting, implementing, and attending education, coalition, and/or advisory council events and outreach, as assigned.
Assist in recruiting through networking with other coalitions and agencies, volunteers, advisory council/coalition members, and/or family participants for community and educational activities.
Teach prevention and/or parenting curriculum and/or participate in a speakers’ bureau.
Participate in prevention advocacy, messaging, and information dissemination.
May participate in fundraising and special events planning and implementation.
Assist in evaluation efforts, including distributing and collecting community knowledge, customer satisfaction, and pre/post-test surveys.
Maintain effective working relationships with other community-based groups in Weld County and participate in cross-agency activities, as assigned.
May perform meeting moderation and, note-taking functions, and other administrative functions in support of the program’s coalition and education activities.
May engage in regular home and community visits to provide individualized education based on the needs of the customer.
May complete necessary screening, assessments, and intake components associated with services and activities.
May be required to complete, file, and maintain hard copy and electronic paperwork relevant to the program.
Participate in internal, community, and interagency meetings and trainings, as assigned.
Education/Credentials: A High School Diploma equivalent is required.
Experience with parents and family in the home, community, and other settings.
Must be able to obtain certification as required by evidence-based programs.
A Valid Driver’s License with a driving record that meets agency insurability requirements is required.
