Job Description:
We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling numerous projects and deadlines.
In addition a strong background in tax preparation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Please note that there may be 40+ hours required between January and April.
Necessary Skills:
Analyze and interpret financial data and provide recommendations based on findings.
Collecting and organizing financial data and documents from clients.
Advising clients on tax-related issues, deductions, and credits.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Conducting tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Communicating with clients to address any concerns or questions regarding their tax returns.
Providing guidance on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Duties include:
Review and prepare client accounting data, and enter for computer preparation of monthly financial reports
Review monthly financial reports for accuracy, completeness and reasonableness
Reconcile bank and credit card statements and analyze other accounts as required
Maintain accurate and complete work papers and journal entries in the detailed general ledger to provide an easy and understandable audit trail
Prepare 1099 Misc Forms and personal property reports as necessary
Prepare sales tax returns and provide accurate filing instructions to clients
Prepare tax returns to include 1040's, 1120's, and 1065's
Maintain subsidiary records for fixed assets, loan balances and other accounts deemed necessary
Communicate with clients regarding timely and proper reporting, and maintain complete and accurate flow sheets of data.
Prepare miscellaneous reports for clients and assist with tax projections as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of relevant experience in public accounting
Proficiency in tax preparation software, QuickBooks and MS Office, particularly Excel
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
