The Bookkeeper provides quality customer service by responding to the needs of the customer in an efficient, timely and courteous manner and provides assistance relating to the operations of the Bookkeeping department by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides quality customer service as outlined in the Bank’s Bookkeeping Standards guidelines.
Greets and verifies customer identification; then responds to the needs of the customers, including but not limited to researching items, providing copies of statements, transfer funds between bank accounts, handling customer account inquires.
Reviews checks over $2500.
00 verifying signatures and propriety of items.
Prints reports, statements, notices, interest checks and special reports from remote access printers.
Prepares and mails DDA and Saving Statements.
Responsible for return mail.
Maintains stop/hold file after entry of all stops/holds and verification of stop/hold entry.
Sends overdraft letters to overdrawn accounts holders.
Closes the overdrawn accounts and submits account information to local credit bureau for collection.
Orders and maintains requests for debit cards, ATM cards and instant issue cards.
Initiates and completes identified corrections to the appropriate customers accounts and bank account records.
Nonessential Duties and Responsibilities: Distributes notices, special reports and interest checks to appropriate departments.
Maintains log on interest checks.
Collects and prepares all out-going mail, including registered and certified mail.
Ensures postage machine has appropriate level of postage.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
